A teen suspected of plotting a bomb attack on a nightclub in Germany has been arrested, according to multiple media reports.
Hesse state police reportedly took the 17-year-old into custody on September 1, after US intelligence revealed the teenager’s alleged plot for a violent strike. The target: an unnamed gay venue in Frankfurt.
At the time of the arrest, the suspect had instructions about how to make explosives and was seeking materials online. “Small amounts” of those materials were even found at the teen’s residence in Florstadt, according to a spokesperson.
The suspect is currently being held under judge’s orders on suspicion of preparing a “serious act of violence.”
The person’s name has been withheld for “privacy reasons.”
