After only its first day, one man has died at Tomorrowland in Belgium. Reports are coming in that a man fainted by the main stage and was transported to Antwerp University Hospital where he could not be revived, a hospital spokeswoman told AFP on Saturday.

An autopsy is to be carried out Monday.

An official statement from the festival was given, “The organization of Tomorrowland announces with sadness the death of one of its guests. On Friday evening a visitor became unwell at the festival site. After being cared for by the helpers of the Flemish Cross, the man was immediately admitted to the hospital. The organization sympathizes with the victim’s family and friends. We hope that the bereaved can handle this loss in all serenity.” [Translated from the original Dutch.]
