The man who instigated A$AP Rocky and his crew will not be charged with any crime, as revealed in a report from TMZ. According to the publication, Swedish prosecutors have cleared the unnamed man, saying he acted in self defense.

Early this month, A$AP Rocky was arrested following a street brawl in Stockholm, Sweden. Footage leading up to the full-fledged fight showed two men, one in particular that was harassing Rocky long before the rapper took physical action.

“We don’t know these guys and we didn’t want trouble,” A$AP said in a social media post. “…they followed us for 4 blocks, and they were slapping girls butts who passed. Give me a break.”

Before the fight broke out, the instigator apparently threw his headphones at Rocky’s bodyguard, cutting his head. This is where the self defense part comes in — because prosecutors argue the man was “pushed and lifted by his neck” by the bodyguard before the headphones were thrown. None of these particular claims were captured on camera, so the order of events that unfolded is somewhat uncertain.

Meanwhile, the bodyguard has also been cleared by Swedish authorities. TMZ points out the oddity that on one hand the bodyguard was in the right — but in another argument, he initiated the violence first. Something doesn’t seem to add up here.

The man who harassed Rocky and his crew was apparently never taken into custody during the investigation. Rocky, however, was taken straight to jail and remains incarcerated.

Official charges are expected to be handed down this Thursday and Rocky could very well be slapped with aggravated assault. If convicted, he will face up to six years in Swedish prison.
