deadmau5 is drastically changing up the vibe from his orchestral album, where’s the drop? — as he just hit us with a new remix album, cleverly titled here’s the drop!
The album features 15 epic remixes from a vast spectrum of electronic artists. From No Mana to Peekaboo, Mad Zach to Mr. Bill, it’s all in there. Plus, Matt Lange, Rinzen, Pig&Dan, Tinlicker, Morgan Page, and more. Each producer serves up their own interpretation of some of deadmau5’s finest work.
Morgan Page kicks the remix album into high gear with a fresh take on “imaginary friends.” Moving forward, “acedia,” “avaritia,””monophobia,” “fn pig” and more favorites are completely reimagined. The energy level ranges from theatrical to minimal as here’s the drop! delivers a sublime musical journey.
Closing out the album, Peekaboo transforms “strobe” into a bass-driven daydream. The song’s classic melody matched with his gritty textures form one of the most unexpected remixes on the album and one of our personal favorites.
