Lost Frequencies Impresses With New EP “Cup of Beats”

You’d be hard pressed to find an artist who’s managed to combine quality and quantity in terms of touring and recording output over the past five years than Lost Frequencies. After quickly rising up the charts with his breakthrough single “Are You With Me;” the Belgian producer/DJ, real name Felix De Laet, has since become a festival headliner. He’s also collaborated with huge pop artists like Sandro Cavazza, Aloe Blacc and even James Blunt. Now we’re treated to a Cup of Beats, five fresh new tunes that showcase the breadth and style of Lost Frequencies’ production.

The highlight of the EP has to be the lead-off track “One More Night” which sees Felix team up once again with country singer Easton Corbin. Corbin provided the original vocal sample for “Are You With Me,” the track that started it all. “One More Night” definitely has the same vibe and flavor as its predecessor. Every track is stellar, but some standouts are “You” with Irish vocalist Flynn. The track sees Lost Frequencies utilize some impressive live instrumentation and turn in a groovy beat. “Sick of the Silence” sees Felix go into more after-hours territory as he shows he can handle a warehouse party just as well as a festival stage. Here’s what Felix had to say about Cup of Beats.

“I’m super happy to share ‘Cup Of Beats’ with the world! In only six tracks, you will hear some electro-pop based tracks to more club-y sounding tracks, always filled with melodies that got stuck in my head. This EP was also my first time recording electronic aspects of tracks with analog gear, and you’ll probably hear it on some tracks more than others, but I have to say, it was an amazing experience for me! In the end, I hope you guys are hungry for a ‘Cup Of Beats’ from Lost Frequencies.”

Check out Lost Frequencies latest EP Cup of Beats, out now on Found Frequencies/Armada. Felix also just played a very special set atop the roof of the Royal Palace in Brussels. Felix got the personal invitation to perform from Belgium’s King Phillippe, so you know this was an extra special set right here.
