Zeds Dead Go Deep for ‘Altered States’ Label Launch with New ‘Catching Z’s’ Mixtape [LISTEN]

Zeds Dead Zeds Dead

Zeds Dead have revived their widely adored Catching Z‘s series to mark the launch of their brand new label, Altered States.

The mixtape goes deep, showcasing the melodic side of Dylan “DC” Mamid and Zachary “Hooks” Rapp-Rovan, aka Zeds Dead. Tapping their downtempo genius and breakbeat expertise, ZD’s flex on Catching Z’s is just as impressive as the heavy bass efforts they’re arguably best known for.

Spanning 13 tracks over 37 minutes, each production draws us in, building an entire universe around the dynamic soundscapes of Catching Z’s. From the ambient opening of “when i die i’mma come back,” into the unexpected wubs of “phuket sunrise” and into the gritty tones of “late night drive,” there’s something here for every kind of ZD fan. As a whole, the mixtape hits in whimsical, slightly wonky, and totally immersive ways.

Zeds Dead share of the release:

Your response to the Catching Zs mixes has been so amazing over the years, we wanted to bring you an all original collection of our own dreamy creations. Downtempo, trip hop or whatever you wanna call it has always been a huge inspiration for us and in a lot of ways a big reason we got into making beats in the first place. With Altered States we want to bring you more of that kind of vibe and this Is the start.

This is just a taste of what is yet to come from Altered States! Listen here.
