Alesso shared a touching video on his Instagram account yesterday, addressing health concerns and show cancellations.
For months, there’s been widespread speculation online as to why Alesso has been cancelling shows, and why he’s performing less compared to previous years. In the video, he reveals that one day he randomly woke up with severe ringing in his ears, although he did not perform the night before. He also states that although he’s experienced ear ringing before, it’s never been that severe.
It turns out that Alesso’s diagnosis is tinnitus, a common ear condition that many people in the industry have. Aside from ear ringing, tinnitus can also appear as unexplained buzzing, whistling or roaring in one or both ears. The sounds can either be constant, or fluctuate in frequency as well as loudness. 
Alesso also revealed that in the 14 years he’s been performing, he’s never taken a proper break. So, he intends to use this time to slow down and prioritize his mental and physical health too.
This doesn’t mean he will not be performing in 2025, he will just be performing much less. But, fans can still catch him at Ultra this year among a handful of other festivals!
