Canadian producer, DJ and event curator Frigid just dropped his ferocious No Hibernation EP via High Etiquette.
The two- track EP is an explosive fusion of dubstep, grime and other bass music mutations. The production is sleek, minimal and intricate, while simultaneously carrying a hefty, long-lasting punch. The EP touches on topics like survival, hardships and perseverance. It features UK rappers and vocalists Grim Sickers and Rakjay, and dives into the shared experiences between them and Frigid. The opening track, ‘Cost Of Living’ which features vocalist Grim Sickers, tackles issues around the exorbitant cost of living, the sacrifices and often unavoidable hardships that come with it. The track’s production is sharp, burly and hypnotic as it brilliantly fuses a low-end beat with textures of grime and dubstep without overcompensating.
The title track ‘No Hibernation’ is a lot more aggressive than its predecessor. The track features Rakjay and leans more towards grime, while still carrying influences from other bass music mutations. The heavyweight bassline and super-powered synths elevate the track into a stadium-sized offering, which is sure to be the soundtrack to many headbanging sessions on the dancefloor. 
Sharing more on the EP, Frigid said; “I’m really grateful to have worked with Rakjay and Grim Sickers, they’re incredible lyricists and collaborators. We went back and forth on themes pulled from our own lives, especially around hardship and perseverance. No Hibernation is the first project I’m releasing that speaks directly on these experiences. I’m excited for people to really listen, connect with the lyrics, and hopefully see parts of their own story reflected in them.”
