Just in time for the new year, it’s a slamming electro/progressive anthem straight from the minds of two highly-talented Dutch duos. Both hailing from the Netherlands, Showtek and Bassjackers have joined forces for one of the first highlights of 2013. Showtek is coming off their huge collaboration “Cannonball” with Justin Prime, while Bassjackers had a huge remix of Spencer & Hill’s track Surrender back in October. In addition, their collab with Angger Dimas—“RIA”–was recently featured on Spinnin’ Compilations. Now, Showtek and Bassjackers have come together for a huge collaboration of their own. This latest track was previously examined in our Bassjackers interview (link here), but now it’s finally ready for release. Featuring some gigantic synth work and an infectious groove, Hey! (Spinnin’ Records) is a monumental track with an energy all its own.
The track begins with a solid intro before quickly descending into all-out madness. A deep chord progression sets the mood, before a huge build-up leads to a positively floor-shaking drop, with a rumbling bassline that drives the track. Short vocal samples add to the frenetic pace of the song. But the final segment of the track is the most mind-blowing, with the full chord progression shining as a myriad of synths all contribute to the melody–that is, up until the final drop, which takes us into one last powerful segment that is guaranteed to send the floor into a frenzy.
This is one of the first real standouts of the new year, as Showtek and Bassjackers have truly captured some magic in this track. Pick up your copy today.
