Deadmau5 announced today that he will be leaving Ultra Records to make Astralwerks his new home. Mau5trap will also be packing it up and heading to Astralwerks alongside Joel, and with the partnership news they also took this opportunity to announce a new compilation to be released with the newly connected distributors. With the mau5 recent surge of demos and interactivity on all facets of social media, foreshadowing of greater things to come was apparent.
Deadmau5 excitedly added,
“So, it’s now official… Yep, we’ve teamed up with our friends at Astralwerks! It’s done, and this sh*t is happening! Big plans are in motion people. BIG.“
Astralwerks General Manager Glenn Mendlinger,
“We are thrilled to be working with deadmau5 both as an artist and as an A&R partner for his mau5trap label. Joel is an absolute trail blazer, pushing the boundaries of electronic music, production, and the live experience to places unimaginable without his vision and contribution. This is an exciting moment, but it’s only the beginning. Watch this space…“
Also worthy of noting, is the fact that Astralwerks is also a partner of Capitol Music Group, the very group Deadmau5 announced a partnership with in June. Coincidence? I think not.
Coming out the gates charging, Astralwerks will release the Mau5trap new compilation album “We Are Friends Vol. 2” on November 12, 2013 with its pre-sale launching on October 22, 2013.
