Tiësto Returns To BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix After 8 Years

by Your EDM Staff
February 4, 2014
in Blast From The Past, Deep House, House, Podcasts, Tech House, Techno

Last night marked Tiësto’s 8th appearance on BBC Radio 1’s “Essential Mix, one of biggest radio mix shows in the world. The mix was hosted by non other than Pete Tong and serves as a Clublife Afterhours special, featuring the finest in deep house and techno. You can expect to hear the likes of Joris Voorn, Oliver Heldens and Tim Berg throughout the mix.

Last time Tiësto was on the Essential Mix was in 2006 during his live performance from Global Gathering, where he played tracks like his tech driven remix of Delerium’s “Silence,” Booka Shade’s “In White Rooms,” and his own progressive banger, “Lethal Industry.” Though Tiësto has changed his musical style quite significantly over the years, he takes us back into his past with a special deep mix.

Tiësto hits us with some deep groovy vibes for the first hour and a half, and then lifts us back up with some uplifting energy driven classic house as he ends the set, showcasing Joris Voorn’S “Ringo,” Matt Goldman & Gazzo’s “Six Point Five” and concludes his return with Oliver Helden’s deep house chart-topper “Gecko.” Tiësto, it’s been far too long!
