The Guvernment Night Club Shutting Down

Famed Canadian nightclub The Guvernment and Koolhaus Entertainment Complex will be closing its doors on January 31st 2015 after an extended 17 year journey. Based out of Toronto, Ink Entertainment’s The Guvernment had been going strong since the day it first launched in 1996, but apparently not well enough. It is reported that to close out the club in high fashion, Ink Entertainment will host a series of sensational finale events with a supposedly impressive roster of artists. On that matter, Charles Khabouth, Founder and CEO of INK Entertainment stated:

“You know us, and you know what we do. We’re speaking to all key people and we’re not going to go out on anything other than a massive bang.”

Toronto has been in the news recently following a new law proposed that would effectively stop the Exhibition Palace, another Toronto venue, from hosting EDM related events. It’s unlikely that the reports are in any way related but both instances are not good news for any EDM fans residing in Toronto and its neighboring areas.

Concerning the closure of the Guvernment, Charles Khabouth had this to say:

“It makes me proud to see how far we’ve come. The Guvernment is one of my proudest achievements and after such a long-lasting journey with such fond memories, we want to thank all those who made it possible and shared in our successes.”
