Looks like Dani Deahl has caught the twerk bug that is going around. After doing a remix of Justice, she partnered up with the Los Angeles producer JayCeeOh for another twerker. This time it’s a remix of “Gecko” by Oliver Heldens and Becky Hill. When I first heard this as a work-in-progress I was so ecstatic; these two turned up the hype on the deep house original so high that even while I was writing this I kept stopping to bask in the glory of the song. There are some songs, especially in this genre, that seem fitting only in certain circumstances, but no matter where I imagine this being played out, I only see the crowd going ape shit. Who would have known the melody worked so well as a catalyst for booty shaking? Obviously these two did, so disregard that question. What you shouldn’t disregard is the free download, though. Get it!
Dani Deahl will also be releasing a remix for Armin Van Buuren’s “Ping Pong” on July 28th through Armada. That should give you plenty of time to prepare for what is to come 😉
