Skrillex has toured the world, performed to crowds of thousands, if not tens of thousands, but come September 5th Sonny Moore will embark on a slightly different journey performing to a crowd of a select few. That’s right, according to Empty Lighthouse Magazine, Skrillex is partnering with Sirius XM to offer the opportunity of a lifetime to a handful of lucky Sirius XM subscribers by giving them an intimate performance at The Slipper Room in New York City.
According to Sonny, Sirius XM has been one of his biggest and oldest supporters here in the United States, showing their support for the then rising star since October 31st, 2010 when they helped him first break through into the scene. The event is supposedly Skrillex’s way of recognizing the satellite radio station’s early and devoted support. This is what Sonny had to say about it: “SiriusXM is one of the most important outlets of our time. It has always been able to be a part of up and coming music. So stoked for this event!!”
Sirius XM’s Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, followed by stating:
“Skrillex has performed in some of the most famous clubs in the world, as well as arenas and stadiums worldwide, but on September 5th, he will perform in an intimate setting for a couple hundred lucky SiriusXM subscribers. We are excited to present this exclusive event and special live broadcast just for our listeners.”
