Earlier today, the bass monsters known as Barely Alive and Getter released their first ever collaboration as a free download. Their remix of Steve Aoki and Waka Flocka‘s “Rage The Night Away” takes the original and flips it completely on its head, turning it into a devastating dubstep tune that’s destined to destroy dance floors domestically and abroad. The initial drop hits with some filthiest growls I’ve heard in a long time, at least until the second drop came around and melted my face right off. Seriously though have you seen my face? I can’t seem find it anywhere…
Barely Alive has been known to take some of the most annoying tracks out there and somehow make them listenable (e.g., their remixes of Confident by Justin Bieber and Hello Kitty by Avril Lavigne) and they were clearly ready for the challenge this time around as well, especially with a little help from their friend Getter. For those of you who don’t know, Barely Alive’s first release on Firepower Records was a remix they did of Hollow Point off Getter’s Thriller EP, so it’s really nice to finally have these rising stars of bass music working on a track together, especially now that Barely Alive is a staple of the Firepower Records crew too.
