On this week’s edition of Sunrise Sessions, we look towards the calmer, placid side of Trance as a brilliant new remix unlocks the true potential of an already stellar production. As the creator of the skyrocketing new Prog label, Encanta Music, the fantastic talents of Vitodito has slowly integrated himself as an essential artist within the complex scene of true Progressive. With countless support from both Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond on their own, respective radio shows, as well as a breakout collaboration with the legendary Jorn van Deynhoven on Lazy Sundays, Vitodito now capitalizes on this recent successes with a brand new single entitled Salty that ventures into Progressive Trance with euphoric melodies and great, ‘hands in the air’ moments. While the original mix is sensational on its own, we here at Your EDM find that the superb craftsmanship of Solid Stone‘s mix has expertly sculpted Salty into a mature, detailed work that fits perfectly within our Sunrise Sessions mantra. Solid Stone has been a regular name within the timeline of our weekly series, as his outstanding Diversion alias explores the deeper side of the EDM spectrum with singles such as Mind Games and Underworld reaching deep into the murky recesses of electronic music.
Apart from his broadening borders as a refined taste maker with his fantastic Refresh radio show, (which showcases the best in Deep Progressive and Techno), his original alias is also breaking new territory with support with some of the world’s leading artists including Max Graham, Armin van Buuren, Tomas Heredia and Fisherman & Hawkins. However, for this vibrant new remix, Solid Stone is heading back into the past with his timeless, classic sound of 2011. With the onset of mellifluous vocals from an unknown vocalist, he begins the track with a classic Trance feel as curious, cavernous bell tones compliment a lush undertaking of resonant basslines, crisp percussions and haunting reverbs. The breakdown is where the piece truly shines with decadent Prog synths and whispering pads creating the perfect backdrop for the vocals to reach the listener in sonorous tonalities. With a bit of sly skulduggery, Solid Stone slowly adds more of the original opening’s musical elements into the main orchestration as he effortlessly stacks instrumental synths on top of each other with an air of added clairvoyance and grace. While this is a simplistic piece as a whole, it is nevertheless a prime example of using emotions and heartfelt melodies to strike at the core of Trance listeners without all the flash of Big Room synths and edgy, booming melodies.
Solid Stone‘s beautiful remix to Vitodito‘s newest single, Salty, is out now on Infrasonic Recordings via Beatport, so make sure you purchase a copy and support real talent today! Make sure to also check out the wonderful melodies of the Original Mix as well!
Keep the music alive. -Q
