Jack U ft. Justin Bieber – Where Are U Now (Sokko & Lyons Remix)

Welp, didn’t see this one coming, that’s for sure. Yes, the Jack Ü remixes have been plentiful, especially for their collab with Justin Bieber “Where Are Ü Now,” but many have been of the future house/future bass persuasion. When this remix from Sokko & Lyons landed in my inbox, I figured it’d be just be like the others. But when I saw that they tagged this one as “Tropical Trance” I just had to figure out what that would sound like, especially with a Jack Ü song that didn’t sound like either. The intro is incredibly Tropical House with its use of bangoes before the vocals kick in. I’m not entirely sure where the trance is though; the track sounds more progressive, and even a little trappy at times. Still, it’s a much brighter, light-hearted take on Jack Ü than other remixes and deserves a listen.
