The immortal legacy of Frankie Knuckles is one that not many artists will be able to achieve in their careers. After his heartbreaking passing last year, long-time fans of house music came together to mourn the loss of an icon, and many paid tribute in their own way. NYC producer Sicarii was in Berlin following his death and decided he wanted to pay his respects in a form that he felt would express his deep admiration for the pioneer of Chicago house.
Using analog synthesizers and sound clips inspired by the Windy City to spruce up his hand-crafted bass lead, Sicarii only used the vocals from Knuckles’ song “The Ones You Love” to devise a remix that came from his biggest musical inspiration.
