Oliver Heldens Goes Disco in Latest Mix

The latest episode of Musical Freedom Radio could be its grooviest yet. Oliver Heldens, who has been bringing a fresh, funky take on house music, took the reigns for Episode 15. While I was expecting something similar to his own Heldeep Radio, Heldens went back – over 30 years back – for an hour of some of the most popular tunes of the 70s and 80s. Though the most recent track is Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” ft. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers, the entire vibe is retro. For dance music fans, it’s a great history lesson, as EDM has roots in the Disco era. Take a look at the tracklist below, but try and see how many of these songs you know first!
