Liquid Stranger is definitely one of the last stalwarts of classic bass music in the US (even though he’s Swedish, shhh). His sounds are deep and gratifying, hearkening back to a golden era of dubstep. “King Of The Hill” is a perfect example of how he keeps his sound fresh and vibrant while still holding that classic bass sound close to his chest.
Among others, like Bassnectar, ill.Gates, and Downlink, Liquid Stranger’s tunes have an odd mysterious origin to them, blurring the lines between popular bass genres in a continually appealing way. This one in particular also injects a slight Middle Eastern vibe with rap vocals to ever further broaden the scope of his production.
