Momentum is a fierce and unapologetic force (just ask Lebron and the Cleveland Cavaliers). It’s also a force that seems to have a found a new friend in Jamie xx, propelling him at lightspeed through 2015 thus far. The talented producer and The xx band member started the year by announcing his inclusion in Disclosure and Rudimental’s Wild Life Festival, and he’s left a fire trail ever since.
He now tosses a gallon of gas to the flames, garnering the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with his debut album In Colour. The album sold 19,000 copies during its first week, just edging out Major Lazer’s Peace Is The Mission, which sold 16,000 copies during it’s debut. With a slew of singles sure to make waves over the next couple of months and a highly anticipated performance at this year’s HARD Summer, momentum and Jamie xx don’t seem to be ending their friendship anytime soon.
