Following last week’s conversations with Porter Robinson, Japanese site AsQme has teamed up with none other than Deadmau5. Answering questions from his wide Japanese fanbase, Joel tackles such topics as the changing tide of dance music, comments made towards him by Noel Gallagher, and the unique nature of the Japanese music scene. Watch his personal vlogs below, and stay tuned for even more coming soon.
Question 1: What do you think about the burgeoning EDM scene?
Question 2: What do you think about your Japanese audience? I have a feeling that we’re quite shy in general and so will be less responsive during your show than what you’re used to with other audiences. I heard your live last year at Creamfields and I could tell that your English fans are way more responsive than your Japanese fans.
Question 3: Deadmau5! I’m from Niigata, Japan. Thank you for playing at Fujirock in Niigata!! I’m excited to see you play on the 25th of July. I’m going just for you. What do you think about the Japanese music scene? And, Japan will be hosting Ultra, Sensation, and EDC but why did you choose to play at Fuji Rock Festival? Also, how’s your Lamborghini Huracán?
Question 4: I’m looking forward to your live performance at Fuji Rock Festival. Are there any artists in the Fuji Rock line up that you would like to see?
Question 5: In a recent interview, Noel Gallagher said, “Hello, this is deadmau5 without the stupid f*cking hat.” I think you’re getting his attention because you’re so in the limelight these days. However, how do you feel about Noel personally?
