TMZ has just released audio from the Mad Decent Boat Party’s captain, officially announcing the cancellation of the ship’s voyage. The vessel will proceed back to port in Miami.
According to him, the US Coast Guard has now taken over search and rescue efforts for the woman who jumped overboard around 7 p.m. local time Thursday evening, and have just now identified the missing woman – 24-year-old Kaylyn Rose Sommer of Charleston, South Carolina. This morning at first light, aircraft was launched from their Air Station Clearwater to assist in the search (seen below).

“This is unfortunate, but what had happened was more unfortunate and at this time we let our thoughts be with her family and friends who are still onboard and are back home. […] We still have not completely given up the hope to find what we are looking for.”
Twitter user @zethussuen says the ship will arrive in Miami on Sunday morning. Some of the late Thursday evening performances, he continued, were held indoors after the passenger lockdown was lifted. Music is expected to continue as the ship returns to port.

The official story surrounding the woman’s jump has yet to be confirmed.
There has been no indication yet as to Mad Decent’s plans to issue refunds to passengers.
