One of our favourite electronic acts are back on the scene this week, and they come clutching a new album. We are referring to UK group Submotion Orchestra, who have been busy spending time focusing on live performances.
Two years on from ‘Alium’, the seven musicians have created ‘Colour Theory’, a mesmerising listen that captures a wide range of sounds and styles. It takes on a mostly electronic feel, although there are several vocal collaborations, including the lilting folk-esque ‘Needs’ ft. Andrew Ashong. Other highlights include the wavy ‘Illusions’ and ‘Red Dress’ ft. Ruby Wood.
This one is out now through Counter Records.
