When Above & Beyond fan Anthony Vagenas first purchased his tickets to EDC Las Vegas he was probably expecting to have a pretty damn good time, what he probably wasn’t expecting was to have the experience of a lifetime in front of tens of thousands of festival attendees.
Anthony’s grandparents were given the chance to partake in the Above & Beyond tradition of ‘Pushing The Button’ following a heartfelt letter he wrote to Above & Beyond.
“I am currently going to attend Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) Las Vegas with my brother and grandparents, and I’ll keep this short and sweet. My grandmother turns 75 years old Friday, June 17th, and my grandpa will be 84 years old during the time as well. I’m trying to give them the best experience that they can have while they are there at EDC, and would love for my grandparents to push the button. We have to keep the edm scene going for as long as we can and this would really help to prove that the age difference has no affect in a place like EDC, and everyone loves everyone.”
‘Push The Button’ has developed as an integral part of the Above & Beyond experience when they play their hit “Sun & Moon” which involves the trance act picking out fans, usually with signs, to play out the drop for the act’s signature song.
Above & Beyond have pointed out that the tradition is usually not a pre-selected one but rather a decision driven by spontaneity. This time, however, they were more than happy to “make an exception”!
Check out the video below posted onto the trance trio’s Twitter timeline; the happy family joins the stage about 1:10 in.
Age is just a number. Thank u Janet (75) & Henry (84) for pushing the button with their grandsons @EDC_LasVegas https://t.co/kDh5F2kdXi
