The sun’s out, the birds are chirping, and the scent of freshly cooked beef is ripe in the air. With Ultra Japan currently in full swing, many of dance music’s most esteemed contributors are all gathered in one place to perform their very best for the festival crowds. Among this list, of course, are headliners Deadmau5 and DJ Snake.
In an unexpected move, Deadmau5 took his his Instagram page earlier this morning to upload a photo of a DJ Snake placard, likely placed outside of his dressing room, with what appears to be Sharpie writing above the name. The photo caption, “Your move,” heavily implies that it was Deadmau5 himself who wrote over the placard, effectively beginning what could become either a new alleyway of beef between he and DJ Snake or the start to a friendly prank war.
“Next time, I steal your USB key and delete Ultra_Set.wav.”
According to the writing, Deadmau5 is claiming that DJ Snake prerecorded his Ultra set, referring to it as a simple .wav file rather than an actual collection of individual tracks. Whether or not DJ Snake will respond to the photo is yet to be seen.
In the meantime, check out the photo below.

This incident follows another post a week ago, where Deadmau5 snuck into DJ Snake’s dressing room to steal a bottle of Jack Daniels. This was done, apparently, as recompense for DJ Snake’s own theft of snacks from Axwell /\ Ingrosso’s room during EDC Mexico. Despite his lack of his response as to the new photo, DJ Snake was quick to reply during the last bout.
