Facebook has begun to implement a brand new Snapchat-like feature on its Messenger app in Poland, mirroring the same move made by Instagram at the beginning of August. Messenger Day allows users to post customizable and filterable photos and videos that expire after 24 hours.
Photos from one Polish user indicate that the service will allow the use of similar filters and stickers as Snapchat employs. While it does not yet have the camera effects common to many Snapchat users, sources say that Messenger Day is not far away from adding them themselves.
“We know that people come to Messenger to share everyday moments with friends and family. In Poland we are running a small test of new ways for people to share those updates visually. We have nothing more to announce at this time.” – Techcrunch FB Reps
