With “Starboy’s” tremendous chart topping success, it’s no question a slew of producers are begging to remix the track. One remix that caught our attention recently was from the duo Vicetone. They took to their Facebook yesterday to announce that they had finished the remix and asked their fans if it was release worthy. This prompted a wide range of different responses.
The duo faced a surprising amount of backlash from their fans. Many fans complained that the remix deviated from their signature sound too much, or that it was too generic of a remix. Other fans expressed their excitement that someone transformed the pop hit into a house track. One special fan got a response from Vicetone after stating, “You have NO idea what it’s like to be an artist… to be pigeonholed into a specific genre because the fans DEMAND it as if they DESERVE it. Well, fact is; you don’t.
