Avicii Has Helped To Produce The New Chic Album

We’ve seen a bunch of articles over the past few days claiming that Avicii has been tapped by Nile Rodgers for the new Chic album, based on a recent interview with the man before a festival performance in Morocco. Due to the somewhat vague nature of the quote, we held off on reporting this rumor but it has since been independently confirmed: Avicii helped produce the album, or at least worked on it in some capacity.

This isn’t the first time that Avicii and Nile Rodgers have worked together, having put out “Lay Me Down” in 2013. Clearly, the funk riffs from Rodgers and modern production sensibilities worked in Avicii’s favor, so it will be interesting to see how it goes when the shoe is on the other foot.

There’s no release date yet for the new Chic album, but it will be titled It’s About Time. It is Chic’s first album in 25 years.
