Rob Swire Calls Out Marshmello And, Curiously, Knife Party In Short Twitter Rant

Rob Swire is undoubtedly one of the most outspoken and unfiltered voices in EDM, often rivaling deadmau5 for the position at the top. There was a time when a person fell overboard on Mad Decent Boat Party and Rob’s response on Twitter was “Don’t* Abandon Ship,” a reference to Knife Party’s debut album.

The point of this being that he’s not afraid or concerned with calling out anyone he thinks deserves it (or even if they don’t). The most recent target of his attention is Marshmello, though for the life of us we can’t figure out why it was worth it.

Positive tweets from DJ's with fucking marshmallows on their head 🙄 thanks for the notification, twitter

— Rob Swire (@rob_swire) June 27, 2017

For Marshmello’s part, he didn’t let the snide jab get the better of him and took the higher road in response, just as Rob’s initial tweet would suggest.

Glad you’re enjoying them rob.

And some of Rob’s cohort definitely agreed with him.

Couldn’t be more spot on as always Rob

Some fans were quick with spot-on response.

Negative tweets from DJ’s that can’t stay in their own lane. 🙄 I’d rather see positivity than hate. Thanks for the notification, twitter.

But then we get one of the weirder moments of the Twitter thread when Rob, with tongue in cheek, seemingly called out his own duo Knife Party in response to criticism from a past fan.

Knife Party are sellout idiot cunts who should have stayed in Australia doing what they do best: sucking dick for lunch money

— Rob Swire (@rob_swire) June 28, 2017

If there’s anything to learn from this exchange… well, there really isn’t. It’s just fun to look at.
