On-screen lovers Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, better known as Jon Snow and Ygritte to Game of Thrones fans, are engaged! Though the wilding and the King of the North were an unlikely couple in the series, it seems they’re a match in heaven in real life.
Multiple sources have confirmed the amazing news, but BBC provided all the proof needed with the formal wedding announcement via the Times of London newspaper. The official marriage announcement reads:
“MR. K.C. HARINGTON AND MISS R.E. LESLIE. The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughters of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire.”
The couple met on set back in 2012, and while Ygritte has since left the show, Jon Snow has become a fan favorite and perhaps the most vital character in the series.
He told L’Uomo Vogue of his best memory: “The three weeks in Iceland when we were shooting the second season. Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love. If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it’s becomes very easy to fall in love…”
