Marshmello and Selena Gomez struck chart gold with their new collaboration “Wolves,” quickly hitting #1 on iTunes and entering the Billboard Top 100 at #88. With 25 million plays already on Spotify, the track is definitely hitting its numbers early.
Today was the release of the official video for the track, which in a creative move, is filmed as a Facetime video between Selena Gomez and Marshmello. The entirely vertical video is featured from Marshmello’s perspective – meaning Selena is on the larger screen while Mello is up in the corner. Ultimately, this works out just fine since Marshmello doesn’t really do anything in the video.
As for Selena, she’s seen prancing around her Hollywood Hills home in a silk robe, singing the song. It’s a well-executed idea and certainly creative, making use of modern technology and methods of communication, if not necessarily adding anything to the track.
