A-Trak has some tricks up his sleeve, as heard with his new take on Maroon 5 and SZA‘s “What Lovers Do!”
The house and hip-hop producer masterfully reworks the pop tune into a dancefloor ready groove that’s so fun you might just forget about the original. For us, the catchy vocals, bright beat patterns, and funky acoustics all take a backseat to the turntablism at play — simply because it’s not something heard everyday.
A-Trak says he knew right away the direction he wanted to go with this production… “When [Maroon 5] asked me for a remix I pulled out some breakbeats and started scratching,” he explains. 
Maroon 5 just dropped their first album since 2014 today, Red Pill Blues. A-Track’s most recent original comes in the form of his collaboration with Quavo and Lil Yachty, “Believe.”
