New Year’s Eve tends to be the popular day for people to go out and celebrate, but December 30 has quickly become another big day for parties. Miami is one city that has embraced this extended New Year’s weekend, and this year a renown Miami club is going huge with it’s New Year’s Eve eve celebration.
Tonight, a double header of epic proportions hits Club Space: Maya Jane Coles and Dixon. Space brings the two artists for its penultimate hurrah of 2017, which has gone down in history as one of the club’s best years.
Maya Jane Coles comes off her recent, well received double album Take Flight, her first album in three years. The album showcases Coles’ many production styles, ranging from intense club anthems to lowtempo, reflective tunes. This year, Coles also led her third Essential Mix for Pete Tong‘s BBC Radio 1 show, which went on to be nominated for Essential Mix of the Year. The mix ranks as one of our favorite mixes of the year, and should prove to be a nice taste of what Coles will play for her Space set.
Meanwhile, Dixon returns to Miami after just playing Rakastella at Virginia Key Beach, but this time he will play the famed sunrise set at Space. Dixon lived up to his touring reputation by playing many sets this year. But, he also released several remixes of his own and continued to lead his record label Innervisions. Innervisions released great records this year, notably Rampa‘s Hall of Violence EP. Such tracks may be showcased in his sunrise set; the set time will perfectly complement his penchant for playing psychedelic, progressive and challenging sets.
