We’re probably just as shocked to be writing this as you are to be reading this — but Zac Brown and his band have officially made the transition from country to EDM with their side project, Sir Rosevelt. On top of it, the group has shared a playlist’s worth of songs behind their inspiration.

Zac Brown Band has flourished in Music City for over a decade, but it wasn’t until around 2016 they began expressing interest in electronic music. As of November 11, 2017, their genre bending, self-titled debut LP Sir Rosevelt has been making its rounds.

So what sounds inspired the band to crossover from country to EDM? Everyone from Diplo, to Alesso, to Khalid and Portugal. The Man have influenced the new sounds of Zac Brown Band — er, Sir Rosevelt. As more genre defying music makes its way into the mainstream, we can expect the unexpected when it comes to EDM and beyond.
