Post Malone‘s sophomore album beerbongs & bentleys is an instant success.
Thanks to leading singles “rockstar” and “Psycho,” the album was already eligible for platinum status upon its release. And now that streaming plays such a huge role in the accreditation process, it’s especially crazy to see how effortlessly Malone just smashed records on the leading platform.
According to Spotify, beerbongs & bentleys has broken the first-day streaming record both globally and in the U.S. The album has racked up 78,744,748 plays after just one day and a whopping 47,930,039 in the U.S. alone — and counting.
Upon its release, “rockstar” became the longest running #1 on the Spotify Global Chart. It would not be a surprise if his entire album beerbongs & bentleys achieves another impressive #1 run in the coming weeks. Four of the albums’ tracks were featured at the top of New Music Friday on the day of release.
As for the game-changing album — the flow is ridiculous. Track-by-track it’s easy to hear why Post Malone is making waves like he is. Plus, there’s something about the rapper that compliments almost every genre of dance music out there. Get ready for plenty of bootlegs to come!
