The sky is the limit for Virgil Abloh. He’s one of the hottest names in fashion, music — really, all things creative — and now he’s tapping into the radio world. Of course, it would only be a perfect fit if Beats 1 was involved and it took place on site at Louis Vuitton’s luxurious atelier in Paris.
Soon the modern day icon will host his very own special show for the internationally respected radio show on Apple Music. The new concept, “Televised Radio,” will act as an “audio mood board” for Virgil’s creative mind and that of his surprise guests.
“Televised Radio” is expected to fuse new with old, contemporary with timeless, blending art, design, and fashion, while peppering in his own curated music selects. He is also a DJ, after all. From the sounds of it, this radio show will be simply gushing with imaginative and inspirational ideas.
Here’s what the Off-White fashion phenom has to say about his new radio gig:
“Music has an amazing ability to bring people together, and I couldn’t think of a better format to catalog all the multidisciplinary work I do under one umbrella. I’m using the two hours every so often to discuss various design projects and the rationale around them . . . in an effort to highlight my friends that make up my creative world. Apple’s design legacy and consideration of fostering art and design made it a perfect partnership.”
Virgil Abloh’s Apple Music Beats 1 Radio Show will debut on Monday, June 18 at 10 AM EST. We can’t wait to hear this!
