Zedd Drops New Song “Happy Now” With Elley Duhé

Zedd

On this odd Wednesday, Zedd has released his new single with vocalist Elley Duhé entitled “Happy Now.” Continuing with his pop inclinations, “Happy Now” is a clear post-break up song, asking the ex in question if they’re happy with their decision.

The song is overall pretty simple, with few of Zedd’s trademark embellishments. A delicate beat plays behind Duhé’s vocals, along with a subtle piano melody and some effects on the vocals.

If “Happy Now” were on an album, it might be placed after an interlude or on a downswing in energy. Fans will likely be split over their reception of the track, but Zedd is truly happy with his selection of Duhé on vocals.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, Zedd said, “I think why I really gravitated towards her was that she had a genuine and honest approach to the song and she felt vulnerable and real. That’s really important to me because I want people who hear the song to feel like whoever’s telling him that story or her that story, is believable.”
