When it was announced that Maroon 5 would perform at the 2019 Super Bowl Halftime Show, the response from the public was… unenthusiastic, to say the least. Now, it’s been reported that Travis Scott will be joining Maroon 5 as a special guest during the performance, and his contemporaries aren’t having it.
The news was originally reported by TMZ this morning, writing that Travis will join Maroon 5 during the halftime show in Atlanta on February 3. Other sources told TMZ that Maroon 5 is also looking at other artists, including Cardi B and Outkast’s Big Boi. (Remember when Maroon 5 released “She Will Be Loved”? Yeah…)
However, at least with regards to Scott, his fellow hip hop artists are trying to talk him out of it. Variety reports that JAY-Z is “attempting to talk Scott out of performing.” Meek Mill more publicly voiced his disapproval.

There’s still two months until the big game, so anything could happen.
