When your debut single reaches 24 million streams on Spotify, people take notice. Tessa Violet is a new name that’s making a name for herself, and her debut EP is out today. Bad Ideas (Act One) is out with three originals and a Lo Fi hit on the title track, plus two titillating remixes from Le Youth and Viceroy.
Le Youth tries his hand at “Crush,” the massive single that gave Tessa notice. The single is turned into an ’80s synthwave extravaganza straight out of that mall scene from Stranger Things season 3. It’s dreamy in all the right ways.
As for Viceroy, the dreamier original “I Like (the idea of) You” gets transformed into a funky house number with delicious bass plucks and an infectious rhythm. Trying to keep your feet still listening to this will no doubt prove a fruitless endeavor.
“So stoked for people to hear these! I’ve never had remixes of my songs before so wasn’t sure how I’d feel but Le Youth and Viceroy created amazing new takes on my songs that I’m SO thrilled about. They both feel perfect for summer too! And just in time for my summer headline tour that starts this week!” – Tessa Violet
