The global EDM market is projected to reach $17.34 billion by 2032

According to a recently released report from Verified Market Research®, the EDM market is expected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate of 7.88% from 2026 to 2032.

The report looked at 10 key driving factors; which included the rapid expansion of online streaming platforms, the influence of music festivals and live events as well as social media and online promotion. With streaming platforms, the report pointed out that platforms like YouTube Music, Spotify and Apple music support scalable distribution which allows artists and labels to reach millions of people all over the globe with hardly any barriers. Algorithm-based tools and technologies as well as playlists and tailored personalised user experiences contribute to increased engagement and music reach.

The influence of music festivals and live events is undeniable. The report echoes this, and states that “the exponential rise of EDM festival culture serves as a paramount revenue generator and a crucial driver for market growth.Music festivals have become a global cultural phenomenon, with festivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival growing an almost cult-like following. Their state of the art production, sound, lighting, as well as merchandise sales and tickets which sell like hot cakes all contribute to the massive growth of the EDM market. Festivals also foster a powerful sense of community and freedom which draw people in year after year.

When it comes to social media and online promotion, the report stated that social media platforms are “indispensable engines for the Electronic Dance Music Market”. This gives artists and music platforms the opportunity to create content through marketing strategies which foster direct relationships with their audience when artists share behind the scenes content, live streams and preview new tracks. This turns their brand into a continuous stream of content, which builds loyal and engaged audiences.

It’s clear that these factors continue to expand EDM’s market value, audience and reinforce the genre’s influence within the global music industry. For the entire report click here
