With copyright being something that has been on a lot of people’s minds lately, it’s not a good time to try and sneak samples through your content. Although, in this particular case it is not a song we are talking about, the right of ownership still applies; even more so since it is dealing with purchasable material.

Earlier today, Madeon confronted Vengeance, known popularly for their sample packs, who supposedly used samples from the French producers cache in their latest pack. He even cited his own song for reference. After a few friendly tweet exchanges, the problem was solved and the two questionable samples were replaced and all was well with the world again. If you do happen to take someone’s samples, you know full well you may get caught. Luckily, the victim was not hostile and the perpetrator was compliant with Madeon. That’s not the case always, but it’s nice to see some cool heads resolving the situation together.

As a last thing, I think it’s funny that producers are condemned for using obvious samples from Vengeance, and now the question comes to mind whether or not Vengeance uses samples that aren’t even original.
