We knew it was going to come to this eventually. Through a series of events that raised awareness of gender diversity in EDM one thousand fold, the first to debut an all-women lineup will be DayTrip Music Festival in Chicago.
The festival – which is four separate days spread across four weekends – will use May 31st to showcase an all-women EDM lineup. The first of its kind will follow along with the already underground nature of DayTrip, meaning that you won’t be seeing Krewella or Nervo on the lineup. Instead, top female DJs like Dani Deahl, Zaena, Fortune will lead the charge.
“It’s hard for women to get booked at most EDM festivals,” said DayTrip artist, Zaena. “I’m really excited to be a part of a festival that shatters that glass ceiling and gives these artists the recognition they deserve.”
Included in the acts are Zaena, Kid Delicious, Mindy Sherman, Hummingbird, Roma Soul, Brandi T, LeSprite, Fortune, DJ Affinity, Ana De Irisarri, Blu9, and Dani Deahl, who “will take over the day of performances, playing their sets across three stages over ten hours.”
Early bird one- and four-day tickets are already sold out, but you can still get regular price tickets here for $25 and $75, respectively.
