I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a movie as much as I’m excited for Eden. The indie French film directed by Mia Hansen-Løve has already enticed many during the film festival circuit, and is preparing to make a run in select theatres in the US. The film follows a Frenchman named Paul, who navigates Paris like a DJ during the French house movement in the ’90s. Eden gained most of its attention when fans discovered that Daft Punk‘s music was not only apart of the soundtrack, but that there were characters in the movie based on Guy-Manuel and Thomas too.
DJ Mag first debuted an exclusive clip of the two fictional DJs playing Daft Punk’s “Da Funk, ” unmasked, ironically at a costume party. And even though the clip itself is fictional, it’s hard to believe that the helmeted DJs got their start spinning small house parties in the ’90s, considering where they are now.
