Two Stabbed, One Missing After Electric Daisy Carnival UK

Today is a bad news day regarding European EDM festivals. Not only was a man struck and killed by a lighting installation which collapsed due to strong winds at Electric Love in Austria, but even more grisly reports are emerging from EDC UK.

Firstly, a 17-year-old female attendee, Lauren Plunkett, has gone missing. Last seen at 1 AM in the vicinity of The National Bowl, where EDC is hosted annually, she hasn’t been heard from since. Reportedly wearing blue jeans and a black hoody and described as a slim caucasian with shoulder length hair, police are asking for anyone with knowledge of her location to contact them immediately here.

Police are also asking for help with identification of an assailant who stabbed two people at the same festival. Apparently a young caucasian male with light hair, a blue t-shirt and shorts caused grievous bodily harm to two partygoers within just a few hours and in the same vicinity at the event. Both victims have been treated and released without incident, but the suspect remains at large. More details here.

Although these issues are not necessarily an anomaly at music festivals, they point to the larger issue and constant struggle of maintaining EDM festivals and ensuring everyone’s safety year after year.
