As a man without any current significant other, the message in Giraffage & Viceroy’s “Impression Of You” is all too familiar. A lonely man just waking up scrolls through his Tinder feed, sweeping right on everyone, playing the numbers game. Suddenly he finds a match and imagines a future together with this mystery person, based on her photos.
It’s not as rare as you might think. The music is a perfect accompaniment to the melancholy and, at times, hopeful nature of the video. The vocals are are serene and clearly emotive; that bassline, downtrodden and praying for it to end.
The future bass is strong with this one…
