It’s a simple act that can have a tremendous effect on your experience: lights.
The strobes, burners, and spotlights do more than you think when it comes to how you experience live music. Sure, Boiler Room sets and underground clubs do away with these eccentricities, but when you’re playing music devoid of any musical value, you need everything you can get your hands on to distract the crowd.
In a video shared by RevoltDynasty on YouTube and taken by Eamon Barling, a DJ at a show allegedly was rude to the lighting tech before the show. The result was a large build up in the rise before the drop, and just when the music hits its peak … the lighting tech kills the lights except for a single spotlight, embarrassingly showing the DJ fist pumping.
