As cooler weather starts to set in, daydreams of beautiful beaches and warm weather become more and more regular. This December, Electric Paradise returns to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for another edition of the Caribbean festival. This year’s lineup includes EDM superstars, such as Major Lazer, Porter Robinson, and Chromeo along with plenty more talented DJs. The festival is really reaching for the stars with their “Lucy Dreams of Paradise” theme, bringing in new installments of art, food, technology, design, and a multi-stage layout. One of those stages, Stage 3 will play host to a long list of talented DJs, of whom we’ve chosen five that you need to know.
Having spent most of his childhood in Chile, Nicolas Jaar is back in New York producing electronic music. While his sound remains highly experimental, his tracks range from deep house to nu disco to tech house. His versatile library has brought him international success, and recognition from the likes of Mixmag and Resident Advisor. Nicolas Jaar is sure to bring eclectic vibes to Stage 3 and it won’t be something you want to miss.
Hot Since 82
Rising to popularity almost entirely by accident, Hot Since 82 career has been explosive. After just a year of releasing music, he was featured on Pete Tong’s legendary BBC Radio 1 in August 2013, playing a 2-hour long set. He’s gone on to produce an album and multiple EPs and shows no signs of slowing down. His performance at Electric Paradise will surely be one for the books.
For all the techno-heads out there, Guy Gerber is the answer to your prayers. Not only is he a dance music veteran, but he also has plenty of international performances under his belt and doesn’t show any signs of stopping. Guy Gerber will definitely come to Electric Paradise ready to throw down a killer set, filled with plenty of bass and techno vibes to have Punta Cana feeling like the new Ibiza.
Flourishing under Richie Hawtin’s imprint over the last few years, Matador has perfected his sound in just a short period of time. He gives a breath of fresh air to what we all recognize as techno and is evolving musically in ways unimaginable. He has been a regular performer in Ibiza under the Enter banner, joining Enter events all around the world as well. Don’t sleep on a chance to see this rising star’s set at Electric Paradise this December.
Magdalena was the brains behind the renowned club Ego, located in Hamburg, Germany, working alongside dance music veteran, Solomun, and his Diynamic team. Since it’s closure, she now finds herself behind the decks as she continues to pursue her passion for music. She now can be found spinning at clubs in Berlin and Ibiza, and is a must-see act on Stage 3 at Electric Paradise this year.
Joining these artists on Stage 3 will be Dirk Lago, Marc Da Mosh, Chacha, Mathew Jonson, and Nastia. With Stage 3 already showing so much promise, Electric Paradise is shaping up to be the can’t miss festival of the year.
