Hush – Dampkring [Monstercat]

Hush – Dampkring [Monstercat]

Red lips don’t always lie. Before the red-lipped caper Hush became a part of the Monstercat family with “Fopspeen (Bound 2 U),” he was a relatively unknown producer. While many future bass producers achieve stardom fairly quickly (e.g., San Holo, Flume, Illenium), it’s been a long road for Hush. Although Hush released his debut EP Luchtledig on Skrillex‘s NEST HQ label, the aspiring artist didn’t receive much attention until his official remix of Netsky‘s “Rio,” which has accrued over 200,000 plays on SoundCloud.

Since Hush was such an unfamiliar name to begin with, Monstercat fans were pleased to see some relatively unknown on the label with the release of 026 – Resistance. “Fopspeen (Bound 2 U)” has quickly become the producer’s most popular track, and for good reason. Monstercat has also done well in keeping the momentum going, recently releasing “Dampkring” as the second single for Hush’s sophomore EP, Vonk.

The track itself is an instrumental, with a much more chill sound than the lead single. The track also has a fair amount of creative samples, which gives off similar vibes to his debut EP. No matter what, Monstercat fans should definitely be in for a treat with Vonk, releasing next month.
