Your EDM Premiere: Paper Route – Laugh About It (Jorgen Odegard Remix)

When you see the name Jorgen Odegard, the first image in your mind is likely a European house producer, right? Wrong. Jorgen is a 19-year-old producer from Syracuse, Utah, and his music is anything but typical.

The first thing to notice about this remix of Paper Route’s “Laugh About It” is the lack of any typical bassline – there’s some melodic guitar providing a rhythm, and there’s definitely a bassline in the lead to the drop – but from an overall perspective, a lack of bassline plays perfectly to what Odegard does with this. Short, punctuated, Eastern synths on top of the original vocals give off a really unique vibe that you’d be hard pressed to find anywhere else.

Fans can follow Jorgen on Facebook, Twitter and SoundCloud.
